Favorite Things Right Now

I wish that I had more time to document all that is happening with our family.  I did so well when the kids were little and crawling around but now that we are doing Home school it's hard to find the time.

I saw this video on Facebook this morning and it just made me cry and want to savor the time while my kids are still at home!

I am not sure how long we will continue to home school.  This year has been our second year and it has been a hard one.  I am looking into other options but waiting to see what God has planned.

These Art Books have been great for the kids.  I bought the whole set and Selah has worked through most of them.

You can get them Here.  I don't think that I bought mine on Amazon so search some other websites if interested.  I know I did not pay that much for the set.

I love my new birch logs that I purchased from Here.  We used this fireplace once and we don't have a good draft so we were getting a lot of smoke in the house.  At some point I would like to get glass doors so we can have a nice fire.  For now this works.

I'm loving my new coffee table.  We were able to get a good deal and I had waited a very long time to get this. We ordered here and they have excellent customer service.  It does not have the best reviews, but I did do my research and found several blogs that have loved this table.  I am enjoying it as well.

I just started reading this book and really enjoying it.  Because I am partially deaf I can really relate to some of the things that Diane the writer has gone through.  I started it this last weekend and am almost halfway through.  I bought mine on Amazon.

I just recently came across Awesome Shop on the Target website.  Such a fun place to check out.

I just recently bought these for my closet in our room.

Not the best picture but you get the idea.  We do not have a dresser in our room so we have to be very crafty in how we store everything.

2014 Family Pictures

Pictures are by far my favorite accessories in my home.  I love changing them each year and looking back on how much my family has changed in the year.

These are some of my favorites!

I love this picture and wish I was in it because it came out so well with the water behind them.

All the pictures show each of the kids personality. I love this one of Selah and George!

Thank you Kati for doing another amazing job. We are so thankful for these memories!

Favorites

No post on house decorating or the kids today just some of my favorite things right now.

Here are a couple apps that my kids are loving.

Doc Mcstuffins - A friend told me about this show and I found an app that goes with it.  The kids love it.  I have also downloaded a couple episode on to the Ipad to watch in the car.

My dad got the kids glued on this game and have to say it can be pretty addicting.  Selah is especially good at this game.  She was giving me advise at one point and it worked!!

My friend Linda started a beauty channel on you tube that I have really enjoyed.  This is not an area that I am an expert in so I love checking out a couple of the channels online to get ideas on makeup application and products.  You can check her out HERE

I'm loving my back yard right now!  We had the rest of the sod put in a couple weeks ago and it is continuing to grow.  George will be mowing it for the first time this weekend and the kids will be able to play on it.  They are so excited!

I have really been into coffee lately.  For the last couple months I have had at least one cup a day.  This is one of my favorite Keurig coffee's.  I buy it at Costco an it is so good!

Last up for my favorites.....If you like westerns and have seen Hatfields and McCoys

Then you will love Hell on Wheels.  One of my favorite shows right now!

The first two seasons are on Netflix and the 3rd season starts August 12th!

Green Drink

We have been loving our Vita-mix.  We usually use it a couple times a day.  What I love most about it though is the fact that I can get veggies and fruits into my kids diet and they love it.

Selah is a super picky eater.  She does not like veggies or fruit.  There are only a couple pieces of fruit that she will eat, but when it's all blended she loves it.

For the past few days I have been making these green smoothies for lunch.

Here are the ingredients:

1 cup of Apple Juice
1 Large handful of Spinach
1 Banana
1 Handful of Ice

This makes enough for all three kids.  (This last one I added some carrots)

Works well with sippy cups for the little one.  Its more like juice then a thick smoothy.

Yummy!

By far our favorite smoothie is this one. If your looking for a good one to try!

Year Of The Appliance

Based off of the gifts that you are suggested to give on your Anniversary these would have been the gifts to get last year.

George and I have been horrible about getting gifts for each other.  The first 4 years of our marriage we were busy paying off our debt.  We just decided that we would not buy gifts for each other until we got our debt paid off.  A little extreme and not for everyone but that's what we did and it worked for us.  It has only been in the last couple years that we started making it more of a priority of buying special gifts.  I would say we are making up for lost time!

I have always wanted a Kitchen Aid mixer.  This would have been a great wedding gift registry item, but they are so expensive and we had such a small wedding that there was no way that we would have ever gotten one of these.  Thanks to Costco, one of my favorite stores they decided to no longer sell these and they were getting rid of them.  They marked down the price and there was a $50 rebate as well, making this gift a must buy.

As far as the Vitamix goes...... it's the thing to have right now!  A few of my friends have them and swear by them.  Our other cheap blender was dying so we knew we were going to have to buy something.  Costco sells the Ninja which we thought about getting, but I liked the idea of being able to make soup in the blender too.  Thanks again to the Costco rewards check and extra money that I got back from a Visa rewards we did not have to pay very much out of pocket on this baby.

So, for the two items together we probably paid less then what it would have cost for just one!!

We have had these a couple weeks now and so far I have been using the Vitamix at least once a day if not more!

Thanks honey for the wonderful gifts! Just so you know he is enjoying them just as much as I am.  :)

My Favorite Things

Here are a few of my favorite things right now....

I'm loving my new candle from Anthropologie.  It comes in a sparkly metallic container and the smell is amazing.

I just got my new life planner for 2013 and am so excited.  I had to have my most recent pictures added on there because they are so special to me.

The price did go up a bit, but I was able to get if for almost 60% off so that is a pretty good deal.  The spiral binding has been changed to metal instead of plastic.  The tabs are now laminated which will be great so they don't start to wear down.  This year I had the option of just ordering 2013 instead of it coming with the last few months of 2012 in it, which I like because it makes it a little smaller.

Now that the summer has finally arrived I've brought out the tanning lotion.  I stopped tanning or laying out in the sun for the last 8 year and trying to keep it that way.  As much as I don't like my white skin, I would like to try to avoid skin problems down the road.  So to help me try to keep up with my families skin color, I use this tanning lotion from Victoria Secret.  It might now be the best that there is out there, but over all I am pretty happy with it.  I have been able to buy these for only $2.00 since I get coupons in the mail for $10 off anything in the store!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Random Favorite Things

Here are some of my favorite things right now....

If you have an iPad this is a great app for kids.  It's only a $1.99.

Each kid has their own Alphabet to work on.

They learn how to draw the letters.

As well as in lower case.

Then they have to find the letter in a group of letters.

As well as in a bible verse.

When they have completed the letter they get and attribute of God.

Then the word goes into a treasure chest!  The kids love this app and it great for so many reasons.

Next....

I love this Snot Sucker. I know it sounds gross but it works.  My sister in-law told me about this and it works great. Eva is still to small to blow her nose so this really help clear things out and she does not get upset!!  For all you new mommies out there you will love this!

I love these Ellen flats by Vince Camuto.  They are so comfortable!!  My sister bought them for me since she works for the company and gets a great deal!  Thanks Sissy!

I just bought this all natural cleaning product yesterday at Target and started using it.  Not only is it all natural but it cleans great and leaves a lemon Verbena scent that smells great!  I'm trying to clean with more with natural products and heard this one was good.

And last but not least.....we love Trader Joes kettle corn.  We have been buying the bags of popcorn at $1.99 each.  The other day I was over at a friends house and she was making popcorn for the kids and using a Whirly Pop.  I thought that would be great to make kettle corn and for cheaper then what we were buying at Trader Joes.

We bought organic popcorn from Trader Joes and the Whirly Pop off of Amazon.  Here are the directions to make kettle corn.

2 tablespoons of oil  ( We used coconut oil from Trader Joes......a healthier option)

1/2 cup of popcorn

3 Tablespoons of Sugar

1/2 teaspoon of salt.

This is a great snack and the kids loved it!
