Twins Turn 5

So many changes start to happen now that the Twins are 5.  They now have their own rooms.  We split them up a few months ago knowing that it was going to be something that we would need to do.

They gladly excepted the changed as a surprise to me.  It shows how much they are growing and changing.

You can see Selahs room HERE and you can see Gabriel's room HERE.

They started preschool this last week and that was a bit of an adjustment for them, more for Selah as she is a homebody and likes to be home with me.

By the end of the day they were both happy and for the rest of the week they did well.  Thursday was their last day of the week and that was a little harder on Selah.

Every year I mark on our ruler how much they have grown over the year.

I'm so glad that I made this to track their growth and that we will be able to take it when we move.

Over the year Gabriel has had the most growth.  He grew 2 1/2 inches and is now taller then Selah.  Selah only grew about an inch this last year.

I never posted Eva's grow in her birthday post but she grew 2 1/4 inches this last year.

For the longest time Selah has been obsessed with the body and how it works.  I think one day she is going to be a doctor.  She loves learning about it and understanding what each part does.  It's hard to believe a kid can think about these things when they are so little.

We saw this at Costco and she said that she wanted it for her birthday.

When she opened it up on her birthday she went crazy.  I wish I would have video taped the reaction on her face.  It was truly priceless.  Here is a picture that I got though.

She was practically shaking and her face turned read.  I have never seen so much excitement out of her.  I look forward to seeing what God does with the interest that she has with the body.

Gabriel is all boy and is so much like his Daddy.  He loves all the superhero's as well as a Transformers.

He got several transformer things for his birthday and loves each one.  This boy is so social and loves talking to all that he comes in contact with.  He also loves the camera!  We are having to work with him on saying thank you when someone compliments him.  We were in the mall the other day and someone  said that all the kids were so cute and he said "I know"!  It was a teachable moment.

 He's such a little ham.

He looks so grown up in this picture.

Here are a few of Selah. She's a little more camera shy.

Here they are together!

They will forever be best friends.  I love watch the way they are with each other.  Makes me wish that I had a twin!

Happy Birthday Gabriel and Selah!  My life was forever changed the day that you were born in the greatest way possible!!

Eva Turns Three

I can't believe it, my little baby is no longer a baby. Well she was no longer a baby a couple years ago but she still seems so little to me.

Eva turns 3 years old today.  We had a party for all three kids yesterday but today is Eva's actual birthday.

This girl was a surprise from the very beginning and has been such a blessing in our lives!  I am thankful for her each and every day and all that she adds to our family.

Eva loves to dress up and change her outfits through out the day.  She is always putting her outfits together on her own and they always seem to match.  She is such a girly girl.

Here is Eva on Instagram.

As you can see this girl loves to dress up and loves getting her picture taken.  The music that's playing is Just the way you look tonight.  I sang and danced to this song with Eva just before I put her down to bed every night.  The last picture that you see there is from her birthday last year.

Here she is a year later and so much more grown up and coming into her own person!

This photo is from our most recent family photos.  I will do a post when I get my CD of pictures!

Here are a few pictures of her party yesterday. These are not the best pictures.  It turned into one person opening gifts to all three at the same time.  It was a bit crazy.

Her two favorites right now is Doc Mcstuffins and horses.  She has been in love with horses from the start and they continue to be her favorite.  She got some many good gifts yesterday from family and friends.

Because the kids birthdays are so close together we do them all at once.

Then we do a small celebration on their actual birthday.

I went to the store this morning to get a balloon and a fun cereal.  It was our tradition as a kids to be able to have our favorite cereal for the morning of our birthday so I have continued on with its tradition with my kids.  It is the one time of the year that the kids get to have this kind of cereal.

I can't wait to see what God does with her life.  She is truly a blessing to us and all that she comes into contact with!

I love you Evangeline Grace Huertas!  Happy 3rd birthday!

Birthdays

Since Eva and the Twins birthdays are so close together, for the last couple of years I have just been doing one birthday party. I'm not sure what I am going to do when they get older but for now it works.

I do however on their actual birthday celebrate their birthday in some special way.

I did a post for Eva's birthday and had some pictures here.

Here are the rest of the pictures for that day. We took the kids to the park and walk around and found this spot with a picnic table.  The day was so nice and warm.  I was going to buy some nice cupcakes, but then decided to use my Kitchen Aid for the first time.  I used a Martha Stewart vanilla cupcake recipe with butter cream frosting.  I would say it turned out pretty good for my first time.  I'm not sure that I would have made them without the mixer.

 The kids loved them too!

After they ate, they got their run on!!

For you mommies out there, sometimes it seems so hard to get a picture with your kids.  I always tend  to be the one taking the picture.  I wanted to make sure that I got in on a couple pictures.

I love taking pictures with George and the girls!  One day, I know that they will cherish these photos!

I still can't believe that my little girl is two!  I am truly enjoying watching her change and grow though!

Now, moving onto the twins birthday.  (Sorry this is a long post)

Here the twins are just one year ago.

And here they are on their birthday!

This is Gabriel coming down to see the balloons over his chair.

 Selah was so excited!

We had to take our new measurements for the year.

Selah is still a little bit taller then Gabriel!

We took them to Krispy Cream for the first time.  They have had their donuts before but have never been inside.  It reminded me of when I was little going into a Dunkin Donuts on my birthday and watching them make the donuts!  One of my favorite memories of my childhood!

Selah gets so shy when the attention is on her! It's kind of cute.

We got the kids one gift to open on their actual birthdays!

It has been a good year with the twins!  They have learned so much this year and lots of training including getting them potty trained which was probably the highlight for the year for me!  We have really enjoyed this last year filled with frustration and laughter!  It has been a trying year, but a good year in so many ways.  I'm still in awe that these two kids grew inside me at the same time.  I'm not sure I will ever get past the awe in that.  God has truly blessed us.

Here is a picture of the kids birthday cake on their family party that we had.  I forgot to load the SD card in the camera so there were not a lot of pictures from that day.  It was a pretty low key party.

The cake was delish! We bought it from Bales Thriftway.

My little girl loves horses and cowgirl stuff and received this cowgirl hat for her birthday.

I had to get her these cowgirl PJ's from Gap.  They were having such a good deal, I just had to get them.

The twins with their new PJ's as well!

I found these bracelets from Justice for the girls.  It's a little big for them now, but thought it was cute.  I hope they are close as they grow older.

Ok, that's it!  Tried to squeeze everything in one post.
