Favorite Things Right Now

I wish that I had more time to document all that is happening with our family.  I did so well when the kids were little and crawling around but now that we are doing Home school it's hard to find the time.

I saw this video on Facebook this morning and it just made me cry and want to savor the time while my kids are still at home!

I am not sure how long we will continue to home school.  This year has been our second year and it has been a hard one.  I am looking into other options but waiting to see what God has planned.

These Art Books have been great for the kids.  I bought the whole set and Selah has worked through most of them.

You can get them Here.  I don't think that I bought mine on Amazon so search some other websites if interested.  I know I did not pay that much for the set.

I love my new birch logs that I purchased from Here.  We used this fireplace once and we don't have a good draft so we were getting a lot of smoke in the house.  At some point I would like to get glass doors so we can have a nice fire.  For now this works.

I'm loving my new coffee table.  We were able to get a good deal and I had waited a very long time to get this. We ordered here and they have excellent customer service.  It does not have the best reviews, but I did do my research and found several blogs that have loved this table.  I am enjoying it as well.

I just started reading this book and really enjoying it.  Because I am partially deaf I can really relate to some of the things that Diane the writer has gone through.  I started it this last weekend and am almost halfway through.  I bought mine on Amazon.

I just recently came across Awesome Shop on the Target website.  Such a fun place to check out.

I just recently bought these for my closet in our room.

Not the best picture but you get the idea.  We do not have a dresser in our room so we have to be very crafty in how we store everything.

Front Yard

It's been awhile....  I have only blogged twice this year.  As I look back at my blog I have really enjoyed looking at the older post realizing that I am missing things that are happening in our life that I want to be able to remember.  This is not necessarily one of those post as I need to post more about the kids and what we have been up to.  I hope to do more on the kids soon.

So, here is our house when we first moved in.  We are so thankful that the house on the inside was all remodeled. The outside was not worked on at all so it was a clean slate to work with.

The lawn actually does not look bad from this picture but if you were to look at it from up above there is lots of holes with no lawn.  I tried to keep it watered during the summer last year which was awful so we decided that we need to add irrigation to the yard since it is so big.

I had a whole design of what I wanted to do but when it came down to getting it all done it was just too expensive to do all at the same time.  We decided to do it in stages.

I forgot to get pictures of it right before but here is it in progress.

The irrigation is in and they are ready for the sod.

We had the landscaping company do just the irrigation and the sod.  We plan on putting a walking way right here to the sidewalk that will lead to the front door.  We also plan on putting plants and bushes and trees at some point but this is all that we could afford to do at this time.

Here it is will all the bark laid.

We also added the river rock and some gravel to the RV pad to finish it off for now.

We want to put a Laurel hedge here on the corner at some point but for now we just took old boulders from the yard around this area that was a bunch of weeds.

The lighting in the front of the house was really dark, so we added some new lights by the garage.

The next project for the house is to get a new garage door at some point. The door is pretty old and does not go all the way to the ground. I'm also not a huge fan of the painted squares on the door either.

Here's the before.

Here's the after.  Not the greatest picture but you get the idea.

It was an expensive project but worth the money.

Kitchen

For those of you who have been following what our new house looks like; here is our Kitchen!

When we were at our old house I really wanted to paint our cabinets white.  I love the look of white cabinets and how bright it makes the kitchen.  I also love black granite.  When we were looking for houses I was hoping that we would find a house that had something similar.  A lot of the houses that we looked at needed work so it would have taken time to refinish or remodel the kitchen to get what I was looking for.

Thankfully when we came across the house we bought it had everything that I wanted.  There are only a few things that I would change, but I am so thankful that it is already done!

The Cabinets are from Ikea and I love them! They are so durable and have the soft close on them which I love as well.  They wipe down great and I never feel like they look dirty.  I'm not a fan of the backsplash, so at some point we would like to change it out but again it is not a must for right now.

We added this cabinet and its from Ikea.  We decide do get a little different textured door on them and it has been great for extra storage.  The kitchen is a little smaller then our last one.

At some point I would like to change out the lighting but for now these work just not my style. I did change the one out over the sink.

I will post the Living room and dining room next!  Hope you are all doing well!
