I follow this blog A Holy Experience and was reading her blog this morning. She talks about doing things different on Christmas and having more of the focus OFF gift giving and focusing ON giving gifts to Jesus. She has spent the last 10 years not giving gifts on Christmas! George and I have not really given each other gifts on Christmas for most of the time that we have been married, only because we did not have not had a lot of money because of debt. We have been debt free for awhile and can give gifts now, but wondering if we should put the focus all on Christ?
I know that this would be a hard thing to do with kids and I don’t think that we will be doing it this year but in the next couple years I would like to spend at least one Christmas following this idea and see what happens.
